Injectable Collagen: Benefits, Types & Results | Reva Clinic
What is injectable collagen? Learn how Atelocollagen and Rh Collagen differ, whether injections stimulate new collagen, their benefits, safety, and clinical evidence.

As we age, our skin gradually becomes thinner, loses elasticity, and develops fine lines and wrinkles. Even after undergoing skin-tightening treatments or collagen-stimulating injections, some people may still notice crepey skin and uneven texture.
These concerns are not always caused by skin laxity or facial volume loss alone. They may also be associated with age-related changes in collagen and overall skin quality.
Program Karisma, featuring Recombinant Human Collagen (Rh Collagen), is an injectable treatment option designed to address skin quality concerns, particularly thin, crepey skin and fine lines, rather than primarily adding facial volume.
Karisma is an injectable bio-restorative soft filler containing Recombinant Human Collagen (Rh Collagen), Hyaluronic Acid (HA), and Carboxymethylcellulose (CMC).
The Rh Collagen used in Karisma consists of a recombinant human Type I collagen α1 chain produced through biotechnology involving genetically modified silkworms. Unlike conventional animal-derived collagen, it is not directly extracted from animal tissues.
Karisma is designed to support skin quality and the skin's natural collagen-related processes. Preliminary laboratory and clinical studies have shown promising findings, although larger, well-controlled studies are still needed to confirm its long-term effectiveness.

Karisma contains three key components:
IngredientMain FunctionRecombinant Human Collagen (Rh Collagen)Supports collagen-related biological processesHyaluronic Acid (HA)Helps maintain skin hydrationCarboxymethylcellulose (CMC)Contributes to the formulation's physical and structural properties
These ingredients work together within the formulation. However, the individual contribution of each ingredient to clinical outcomes has not been fully established.

As collagen levels decline with age, skin may become thinner, less firm, and more prone to wrinkles. Program Karisma may be considered as an option for addressing age-related skin quality concerns.
Karisma may help improve the appearance of fine lines and uneven skin texture, particularly when these concerns are associated with changes in skin quality.
However, deeper wrinkles caused by significant volume loss may require other treatments.
The Hyaluronic Acid component helps retain moisture, potentially improving skin hydration and the appearance of dryness-related fine lines.
Preliminary clinical research has explored improvements in skin quality following Karisma treatment. However, individual results may vary, and further studies are needed to establish the extent and duration of these effects.

Program Karisma may be considered for individuals who:
Have thin, crepey skin or fine lines associated with aging.
Have undergone skin-tightening treatments but remain concerned about skin texture.
Have previously received collagen-stimulating treatments but still experience skin quality concerns.
Want to focus on skin quality rather than primarily increasing facial volume.
Are looking for additional treatment options for age-related skin changes.
Not all cases of crepey or aging skin are suitable for Karisma. A medical assessment is necessary to identify the underlying causes and determine the most appropriate treatment.
Karisma is generally supplied in a 2 mL package.
Published prices at selected aesthetic clinics in Thailand are approximately THB 20,000–25,000 per 2 mL, although actual prices may vary depending on the clinic and services included.
At REVA Clinic, the treatment price and recommended quantity should be confirmed directly with the clinic following an individual medical assessment.

The number of sessions depends on the individual's skin condition and the physician's treatment plan.
Some treatment protocols may involve two initial sessions approximately one month apart.
Changes in skin hydration and appearance may occur at different stages from changes in skin structure. Current clinical evidence remains limited regarding the precise duration of results across different patient populations.

Although both treatments are associated with collagen-related skin improvement, their ingredients and mechanisms differ.
Karisma contains Recombinant Human Collagen, Hyaluronic Acid, and CMC. Its formulation is intended to address skin quality concerns.
Sculptra contains Poly-L-Lactic Acid (PLLA), which stimulates collagen production through the tissue's biological response to PLLA particles.
Neither treatment is universally better. The appropriate choice depends on the individual's skin condition, concerns, and treatment goals.
At REVA Clinic, we believe that treating aging skin is not simply about restoring facial volume. It is equally important to identify whether the primary concern is skin laxity, volume loss, or declining skin quality.
Program Rh Collagen is one of the treatment options our doctors may consider for individuals concerned about thin, crepey skin, fine lines, and wrinkles.
Before treatment, our doctors carefully assess skin quality, previous treatment history, areas of concern, and personal expectations to develop a personalized treatment plan.
